In this global economy which is extremely competitive, the concept of
flexibility is very important whether it is workspace or workforce.
Modular office is quite popular these days as they reconfigure the
needs of any organizational change. When the teams and the departments
are rearranged naturally the cubicle walls of the office and the office
furniture are reshuffled. But have you given a thought, that suppose
you need a change in the network what will you do. Is there any other
way to install a cabling system that allows you to make frequent moves
and changes without having to install any new horizontal cables which
will have to done all the way till the telecommunications room. This
can be achieved in the modern world where flexibility is gaining its
height and importance by way of Fiber Optic Consolidation Point or
Multi User Tele communications Outlet assemblies.
Fiber optic > Friday, December-07-2007MilitaryFiber optic system is replacing the copper wire system. Fiber optics use light pulses to transmit information through fiber lines because of the principle known as the total internal reflection. The raw material with which these fiber optic is made is called the Silica which is plenty and quite cheap when compared to copper. Fiber optic is not prone to theft when compared with the copper wires. Cable television companies, the trunk lines, local area networks and power companies are good examples of fiber optic. An optical fiber communication system consists of 3 main sub-segments-
Transmitter, Receiver and the fiber itself. The receiver acts as the
converter from optical to electric energy. The fiber optic receiver is
actually a transducer which is coupled to the optical fiber at the
receiving end. In normal wires or cables, the passage of information is
in electric form. So there is no need for a special receiving circuit,
but the optical communication system uses optical i.e. light signals to
transmit the information. This necessitates a special dedicated
circuitry at the sending and the receiving ends.

Optical fibers are used in fiber optic communications which helps in
the transmission over a longer distance and at a higher data rates than
the other forms of wire and wireless communications. Signal is better
through fiber wires so fibers are used instead of metal wires. Optic
fibers are used to form sensors and also in other applications. Fiber
optic net work operates at a high speed. Their bandwidth has large
carrying capacity. Signals can be transmitted to a longer distance. It
has greater resistance to electro magnetic noise like radios, motors or
other needy cables. The maintenance cost of these transmission cables
are less when compared to other cables. The optic fiber is immune to
all kind of interference like thunder; lightning and electricity will
not be conducted. As glass is the material used in making the basic
fiber, it avoids corrosion. The fiber optic cable can be easily buried
in any soil and can be exposed to any adverse condition of chemical
plants. There is no concern of shock or fire to the personnel who
repair the broken fibers.
